Business Model

How MedClinicX intends to make money

MedClinicX is pre-revenue. This page describes the model we intend to pursue and shows one worked illustration. Every number here is an assumption or a projection until real customers and real results exist.

Revenue channels

Eight channels, two kinds

Service channels exist today and fund learning about practice needs. Subscription channels are proposed and depend on products that are still in development. The table keeps the two kinds separate.

ChannelStatusWhat it is
Healthcare SaaS subscriptionsProposedThe connected platform, charged per practice per month. This is the long-term core of the model.
Patient portal subscriptionsProposedThe portal as a standalone plan for practices that want booking, intake and messaging first.
Healthcare automation subscriptionsProposedReminders, recalls, intake routing and follow-up automation as an add-on or standalone plan.
Telemedicine software subscriptionsProposedVideo visits with scheduling and intake, for practices offering remote care.
Healthcare website developmentService offered nowProject revenue from designing and building practice websites.
Custom healthcare software developmentService offered nowProject revenue from software built around a specific practice or startup workflow.
Integration and implementation servicesService offered nowSetup, migration and integration work that helps a practice start using new tools.
Enterprise technology partnershipsProposedLarger agreements with healthcare organizations and groups, once the platform supports multi-location needs.

Illustrative model

A worked example, with the arithmetic shown

The illustration below uses three planning price points. They are assumptions for modelling, not launched prices. Pricing will be validated with pilot practices before any plan goes on sale.

Assumed tiers

  • Starter: $149 per practice per month
  • Growth: $249 per practice per month
  • Advanced: $399 per practice per month

Assumption: most small practices choose the lower tiers, and larger or multi-service practices choose the higher ones.

Example mix of 100 practices

  • 60 practices on Starter, $149 per month = $8,940 per month
  • 30 practices on Growth, $249 per month = $7,470 per month
  • 10 practices on Advanced, $399 per month = $3,990 per month

What the mix produces

  • Monthly recurring revenue: $8,940 + $7,470 + $3,990 = $20,400
  • Annual recurring revenue: $20,400 x 12 = $244,800
  • Retention planning assumption: 90% of practices renew each year

These are model outputs, not forecasts. MedClinicX has no customers and no recurring revenue today.

Acquisition assumptions

How customers would be won

The model assumes growth through direct outreach to practices, partnership referrals, search visibility and content. Customer acquisition cost is not modelled yet, because the channels are still being tested. The growth strategy page describes the tests and the order we run them in.

Expansion

How revenue per practice can grow

A practice that starts with the portal can add automation and telemedicine modules later, and multi-location groups can extend one agreement across sites. Expansion revenue is a design goal of the modular platform. It is not revenue the company has today.

Questions about the model?

We are happy to walk through the assumptions in a call, including the parts that are still untested.
