The Office of Graduate Medical Education at the UC Riverside School of Medicine oversees the school's residency and fellowship training programs from the SOM Education Building in Riverside. The office supports the school's ACGME-accredited programs — all eight residency and fellowship programs have received continued accreditation with commendation — and handles verification of residency and fellowship completion. The school itself was created to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in Inland Southern California and to serve the region's medically underserved populations.
