Los Angeles General Medical Center is a public teaching hospital in Los Angeles, California, operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. Formerly LAC+USC Medical Center, it was renamed LA General Medical Center in 2023 and is a world-class teaching hospital and Level-One trauma center serving 10 million residents. It is a training site for the U.S. Navy and for more than 900 physicians completing graduate medical education in nearly every medical specialty and subspecialty. A 600-bed replacement hospital opened in 2008 next to the historic 1933 general hospital building on State Street.
