Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is an acute-care hospital in Glendale, on the southwest corner of 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Banner Health states that a recent expansion added a heart and vascular center, new surgical suites and a 200-bed patient tower with a new emergency department and all-private rooms. The hospital is designated an Arizona Level I Trauma Center for patients aged 15 and older, providing care for serious injuries without transfer outside the area.
