Job Overview
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for healthcare SaaS and digital health platforms.
In this role, you will build APIs, microservices, and data-driven systems that power clinical workflows, patient portals, and AI healthcare applications. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps teams, and product teams to build reliable and secure healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIs.
- Develop microservices for healthcare SaaS platforms.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Work on real-time data processing and workflows.
Healthcare SaaS Systems
- Build backend systems for patient portals and clinical apps.
- Support EHR/EMR integration APIs.
- Ensure secure handling of healthcare data.
- Develop services for AI-powered healthcare features.
System Design & Architecture
- Design scalable and secure system architectures.
- Implement database schemas and data models.
- Work with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
Collaboration & Quality
- Work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
- Improve system reliability and maintainability.
- Follow best engineering practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Strong experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Node.js, Python, etc.).
- Experience with APIs and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Preferred
- Experience in US healthcare or healthcare SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data systems.
- Experience integrating EHR/EMR systems.
- Exposure to AI-driven backend systems.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
